Re: Has anyone been successful in getting off of Citolapram?

I had a hard time weaning myself off of fluoxetine when I took it. I've taken Citalopram too, and my doctor made me stop it without weaning myself off of it, and starting up mirtazapine straight after. It was hell.. probably more due to the mirtazapine than stopping citalopram ..
I tried and failed to wean myself off of Fluoxetine many times, mostly because I was to impatient and also listened to my doctor who said a couple of weeks would be long enough to wean myself off of the pills.

I've learned NOT to listen to doctors.

I finally succeeded by doing it very slowly over several months/nearly half a year, and timing it in the spring so I'd have the benefit of the extra mood boost that comes with spring and sunlight.

Eating well and doing some exercise will probably help, but I was doing neither, and still managed to get off of the drugs. I am still a bit moody, but not as bad as when I was on the drugs.
