Re: Hard to Believe - Elizabeth Taylor has Died

I met her in Washington D.C. when she was married to Senator Warner. An opening night party for a touring Bdwy show was in...

Those eyes. Wow. Beautiful, stunning violet eyes. For reals. She was very sad though. It was written all over her. You could see she was totally out of her element with that Washington crowd and she was obviously high or drinking or both. Broke my heart to see her so sad and had that fleeting urge to yank her out of the environment, grab some cast people, and just go somewhere else. Yeah, she looked that sad and wanted to be somewhere else.

Her body of work in films and as an activist overwhelmed meeting her in those sad circumstances which will be the memory am thankful for. Her work in for instance Virginia Woolf is as good as it gets. Better. Her work as an activist has no peer.

And yes, those violet eyes.... She was of all else very kind. That came through no matter what the circumstance was.
