Re: DIAGNOSE ME!!! 20yr old female w/ mixed symptoms!

I just think you need space to chill out and do your own thing.

When we are unhappy obesity flows ( usually ) from a lack of happiness and lack of control over your personal situation.

The majority of overweight people have a MENTAL issue that needs to be addressed FIRST.

( Note - when I say "mental issue" this is **not** mental illness, but rather an attitude/habit/external cause of unhappiness that needs to be resolved ).

This is usually the root of the problem. As confirmation of this, if you atch shows like Bi***est L**er, you see time and time again people with obesity seem to have issues in their lives ( what I call mental issues as it affects your outlook on life ) that need to be fixed BEFORE they can lose weight.

Unhappiness is the root cause, obesity is just the symptom.

You eat to have a momentary pleasure to make yourself feel good. And of course to keep feeling happy, you keep eating.

Reading through your post made me think of myself years ago, and the stress I was under made me overwieght. At age 22 I was working long long long hours, had bags under my eyes, was stressed and felt awful. Solution - get a different job.

Now at age 20, you have likely created eating habits that maintain your overweight and health issues.

My suggestion is this :

(1) Break the cycle ( this is critial ) - go backpacking overseas to get away from the source of the stress so you have some mental "space" to just chill and think.

(2) Forgive the people who have made life hard - if you dont forgive, you cant move on.

(3) Throw out anything with Sugar in it and start on a highly vegetarian diet for a while

(4) Take vitamins ( for 6 months ) to make sure youre getting all the nutrients you need

(5) Make exercise a regular part of your weekly activities -exercise fires up the lymphatic system, which is used to remove toxins from the body. No exercise, not much toxin removal happens.

Hope this helps - I've been through similar stuff. I was so stressed at age 22 I wasnt sleeping, felt awful and my health suffered. I broke the cycle by going off backpacking for a month so I had mental space to chill and look at life. Maybe a hike in the woods for aweek could also be as good.

In your 20s you have at least 10 years of just having fun in front of you and need to have lots and lots and lots of fun - just do it.

HTH

Cheers,

Bill
