New Blood test results with new problems, platelet count low , liver enzymes raised, help please !.
So after having malabsorption and digestive issues over the past year and a half that have caused numerous vitamin deficiencies and symptoms I've come to the conclusion now I have an intestinal problem ( possibly SIBO or some damage ) due to taking a course of tetracycline ( the
Antibiotic ) and maybe a liver problem ( most likely fatty liver ).
For the past few months I have been low in vitamin D and supplementing to try and fix this although it seems whether trying to absorb from the sun , food or supplements my body is constantly struggling to absorb anything.
I've also been low in vitamin B12 and B9 for the past year and have regular B12 shots to help with this aswell as taking folic acid supplements.
My liver enzymes have also recently been raised.
My diet I've tweaked over the past year to what I think is the best it can be for my body. I'm now high carb , low fat , with a moderate amount of protein bordering on low. I only drink water and have no direct sugar.
I'm waiting to have a scan on my liver and also waiting for a gastroscopy for my intestines where they are planning to take a biopsy.
What concerns me more is that I've just received the results from a blood test from last week and now a few other things have popped up. I'll write them here as they appear on the results.
Platelet count = 127 10*9/L Low
Serum Magnesium Level = 1.04 mmol/L High
Serum alanine aminotransferase level = 88 U/L High
Serum alkaline phosphatase = 191 U/L High
The Platelet count really concerns me as the doctor mentioned something about blood clotting. I obviously asked why this may be low but she said she wasn't sure at all and I was best waiting for my procedures to be performed and we might have a better idea of what's going on.
What really worries me even more is that for the past few months my muscles and joints ( in particular my knee caps and elbows ) have been really hurting me , quite severe pain . Especially at night time. I assumed this was due to the vitamin D deficiency but since supplementing that hasn't helped at all and even more strange now my vitamin D levels on this recent blood test seem to be ok but I still have these terrible muscle pains !. What else could be causing this ?. I'm worried I may have developed another condition altogether.
I'm also starting to develop a terrible pain on my right hand upper side. I'm assuming this could be my liver also. There's nothing I can do except wait for these procedures to be performed so in the mean time I'm not sure what to do !.
I'm considering cutting out all fat as I'm worried about my liver but since vitamin D is fat soluble then that deficiency may reappear.
Any thoughts would be appreciated !.
