tea tree oil in ear urgent

i think i have an ear infection and i know tea tree oil in antibacterial... so i just poured pure tea tree in my ear and it started burning and aching really bad... i cleaned it out with warm water after then put warm olive oil to sooth it... it still aches and iv just read that its really dangerous to put pure tea tree oil in the ear... what are the consequences???.do i need to get it checked imediatly??? can it wait till the morning???
