Re: Hey Doug...
I am a 47 year old white male. I weighed over over 300# when I did my first fast. I did after researching how to get rid of an ongoing low grade infection left over from a 3 three month sickness and walking pneumonia.
I cleared up the infection as well as a few other things and lost 15# on my first 10 day. I went right back to eating and did not come off it correctly. It soon became apparent I needed to get back on. The weight loss surprised me because I wasn't expecting it. During this time all I did was go for walks.
Afew weeks later I started again and went 23 days. I lost another 35# this time and the difference was dramatic! I soon joined the YMCA and started doing low impact cardio and swimming along with walking 5 miles a day.
I did another 10 day after about a month. Between working out, walking and
Master-Cleanse I was down to 230# by summer.
I got laid-off in Spring so I devoted the next three months to just working out and learning to dance - which I still do 3-4 tmes a week. I was also trying to keep my mind off of a very emotionally hurtfull divorce.
I went back to work in September and am ashamed to say I fell back into ALL my bad habits with-in a few months along with getting very depressed over the holidays.
Current status: About 258# (still alot smaller than I was) and on Day 3 of what I want to be 40 Days!
This time I will come off correctly and when it is all said and done hope to be around 200#. I will not weight myself until I am through with it!
I hope my story encourages some of you to keep going.
There is no better feeling than walking into your old place of employment and having your former co-workers not even recognize you because you have changed so much!
Later...
Doug
