I have taken ashwaghanda and I find it really helps my ability to withstand stress, thyroid function, etc. Overall just feel better, chiller and more equipped to handle life.
Dr. Lam recommends taking it "5 days on, 2 days off" to avoid tolerance and dependence... I have done this and it works well and seems wise. On my "off" days (the weekend) I may take additional supplements such as licorice, NADH, pregnenolone... for energy to compensate.
If I take Ashwagandha for several weeks and abruptly stop.... I feel much heightened sense of anxiety in response to stressors for a few days. So yes, worse than before. Eventually I come back to baseline with time... but those initial days SUCK.
