I'm in the same situation as the original OP, except the dentist put a permanent filling on mine as I refused root canal. The tooth was only 50% present with a big crack on the side missing a good chunk of the tooth.
It gave me alittle bit of pain before the new filling, but I could treat it and avoid almost all pain by filling it with beeswax (replace daily), and rinsing with salt water, also Colloidal Silver .
Now that the tooth is filled over, is the infection/nerves locked in? and any way to prevent pain and heal the tooth?
I'm using following supplements to help with pain/healing;
raw milk
cod liver oil Colloidal Silver
clove oil topically
lots of soft natural foods to avoid chewing/pressure on the tooth.
whey protein
Could I use a syringe and try and suck the infection out? or inject it with something?
