Re: Detox/Cleanse for Hair Loss/Eczema? Does Detox Help When Your Blood Work Is Normal?
I haven't tried a cleanse/detox for hair loss since I don't suffer from that, but I've done it (I'm actually currently in the midst of doing it) for eczema. As far as your hunch about all your health problems originating from your gut, you're very likely right, especially since 80% of our immune system is in the digestive tract.
You noted that you're seeing some positive results from the lifestyle changes you've made thus far, and that's a good sign. If I were you, I would continue with your current regimen, and in addition to that, you should also consider following an anti-inflammatory diet for 4-6 weeks. All the supplements and medications in the world won't help if your core diet is lacking in something or has too much of a bad thing. And more often than not, things that go wrong outside the body are a sign of increased internal inflammation. The best way to control that is to eat foods that reduce inflammation (fresh vegetables, nuts, seeds, olive/coconut oil) and absolutely avoid foods that promote it (sugar, yeast, wheat, dairy, peanuts, etc).
Keep in mind that just as you've seen gradual changes in your bowel movements over time, the decrease in hair loss and regrowth of healthy hair won't occur overnight. In fact, be prepared for it to get worse before it gets better (this is known as a healing crisis or healing reaction). That's what happens when the body is finally strong enough to start eliminating toxins through the elimination organs (liver, kidneys, skin), and these toxins manifest themselves as an increase in current symptoms, diarrhea, nausea, bloating, skin eruptions, etc., when they leave the body.
It'll take time, but just as the buildup of toxic waste within your body happened over many years, it'll take a while for complete healing to take place. The general rule of thumb with healing through natural ways and means is that for every year you've had something, it takes one month to heal it. Be patient, eat the right foods, drink LOTS of water, and try and control stress levels as best you can. You'd be surprised at the havoc too much stress can wreak on your system.
