I do enemas regularly. I just started doing garlic retention enemas. I can only do one clove however. I add it to about 1 quart of filtered water and blend them together with my Vitamix until it becomes liquified. I hold it for 15 minutes, turning from left to right. Five minutes on the left side, 5 minutes on my back and 5 minutes on the left side before I evacuate. I can't tolerate eating garlic and this seems to be the next best thing. I do it sometimes every 1-2 weeks. I also do coffee enemas.
But like I said, cascara sagrada is a safe herb that will assist you in achieving full movements. I sometimes take 2 before bed, but you may find it helpful to take them first thing in the morning.
