Re: Antioxidants
That's interesting. I don't have a login for medscape. Could you provide the title and author(s) of the document?
It will be interesting to know what type of test was done--blood, urine, etc.
Since you included the Cutler support group in the list of groups for your initial post, I'll comment on what I've read from him.
His shortest list of supplements for those chelating mercury include vitamins C, E, magnesium and zinc.
I've read a number of reports from new members of detox groups who were getting new, strange symptoms after starting detox. After reviewing their detox protocol they were not taking generous amounts of antioxidants! Symptoms were reduced or eliminated with antioxidants.
Andy Cutler tells a story about a doctor who called saying his detox patients were struggling to get gains. When he got more details he found that the doc was not telling the patients to take antioxidants while kicking up mercury.
He likes the mixed forms of E, not just the alpha form typically available in pharmacies.
I'm fairly sure zinc in the list of supplements recommended for prostate cancer at lef.org.
Cutler likes selenium for those doing mercury detox but it is not in his top 5 supplements. He is not fond of the selenite form for those doing detox; however, I think the NORI anticancer protocol uses sodium selenite.
This woman who recovered from stage 4 thyroid cancer did well with the Nori protocol. I don't know if the link between selenium and thyroid have anything to do with her success.

A friend and I like to include some selenium in the combo of antioxidants we take a few hours after the last dose of chelators in our weekend round of detox.
