Re: Encouragement???
Interesting thread. I think everyone is right. Men don't get enough attention for their prostate problems, cancer or otherwise, or any other health issue. Has there ever been a "Walk for Prostate Cancer?" Just doesn't sound glamorous, does it? Who would go? Who cares? After all men are supposed to be strong and not have internal problems, right? It's too bad the public in general expects them to constantly live up to that image of Mr. Brute King Kong, and that perfect logic of everything being black & white and straightforward.
And women are constantly being labeled as the wild hysteric rambling maniac, no brains, no logical thoughts, always the hypochondriac, over dramatizing, demanding attention, the drama queen.
I can't figure why negatives are so embellished out of proportion, though. Especially when it comes to women, and attributed to those who are NOT ranting, etc. Is it human nature to find fault with one another? Or that doctors feel the need to control that which they don't understand and can't relate to? So the question is then, why even attempt to control somwthing if you don't understand it? A good doc would invest in research before treating something he has no knowledge of, with or without patient hysterics.
Be well everyone,
obj
