Re: 120 year diet!
I've studied his works and other Cronies (that's what they're called, Calorie Restriction Optimal Nutrition). The
Science is solid and the evidence seems to be there clear up through primates that it does work.
My take on it is that very few people have the discipline for it. Further, you'd need to get his 6000 food nutritional database to construct diets. At that low caloric intake it's very easy to become malnourshed. So every calorie must be nutrient dense.
I rather like a more moderate approach like Joel Fuhrman's Eat to Live. You can eat all you want of the right foods, be at your optimal weight, say 165 for a 6' male, avoid all the syndrome x diseases, probably live pretty long, but not to the outer limits as Walford is going for, and enjoy yourself.
Put CRON in your search engine and you'll find a few support groups around. Usually their discussions are very scientific and technical, but they're usually all practitioners.
His general message to eat less is probably beneficial for all of us.
