Re: spiritual significance of humming bird

Just a few lessons from hummingbirds:

Hummingbirds symbolize joy, miracles, and accomplishing the impossible. They are also closely linked to infinity (their wings beat a figure 8 or infinity sign when hovering) indicating connections to the past and future, and their close tie with flowers reflects cause and effect as they cannot live without the nectar but many flowers they feed from rely on them for pollination.

They remind us not only to work hard but to find joy in our work - ever notice how when you're happy you can catch yourself humming? They are very independent and fearless yet seem to play no matter what they're doing. Hummingbirds are the only bird that can fly backwards symbolizing an ability to explore and draw from the past.

All in all, hummingbirds are an auspicious sign reminding us to not hesitate and to grab joy where and when we can.
