The bible is not the word of God that we are to live by.

The bible WAS the word of God 2000 years ago, but we are to live by the word that presently proceeds from His mouth, not His book. The bible is the word of TRUTH (2 Timothy 2:15, Ephesians 1:13), not to be disregarded because Jesus is the truth (John 14:6). The word of GOD (Ephesians 6:17) is what we hear from The Holy Spirit when we are taught how to divide morality in TWO (instead of naughty, naughtier, naughtiest, etc.) so that there is no middle ground between good and evil (no shadow or variation) and the change from good to evil is clear and abrupt.

The Holy Spirit will teach, but in order for us to learn all of what is taught, we have to be good students willing to listen and learn from God instead of man.

If you ever felt that The Lord told you that homosexuality is fine (kind of a nonsensical issue), then you would be hearing things. There are ways to pursue truth, forming the wrong questions and irrational analogies are what the god of confusion wants us to do. TRUTH must be respected (John 14:6).

I never heard the term "Paulist" before John mentioned it, but that's exactly the reverence I see in the institutional church, people place too much significance on everything that Paul said. When Paul spoke about women, He seems to have some very chauvanistic attitudes (In The Lord, there is neither male nor female). To the institutional church, Paul seems to be the protestant version of the pope.
