Vaccines: Are They Really Safe and Effective? by Neil Z. Miller


Parents, educators, and health professionals have very few reliable sources of information permitting them to make informed choices regarding vaccines. But concerned parents are pleading for answers to their many questions. Doctors only tell them one side of the story; there is another side. This book tells the other side and helps all concerned people to make wise and responsible decisions.

• Can mandatory vaccines trigger developmental disorders and autoimmune diseases?

Why is this book any different?

In my opinion, facts and data presented inside this book are stronger then data presented inside any other book that I have read (and I have read almost all of them). Questions asked inside this book are very painful for medical community and vaccine producers and pushers, and those questions has yet to be answered by someone with no bias or relations to pharmaceutical industry.

The new 2002 edition contains 30 graphs and more than 900 references. It gives firm ground to anyone questioning vaccines. This essential immunization resource is the most well-documented vaccine book available today.  If you want reliable information, referenced information about vaccines, then this is definitively the first book that you should read. If you are skeptical to many anti-vaccine claims, I would suggest you to read the  2002 edition, cause some of the conclusions expressed in the previous editions have been backed by more data and by numerous references.  I have the 1999 edition, and the last edition (August 1, 2002) in front of me. If you have read critiques of the early editions of this book, you should know that in the 2002 edition, Neil Z. Miller answered all critiques with powerful data and powerful new references. )

• During the 1980s and 1990s, more than half of all measles cases in the United States occurred in people who were adequately vaccinated (p. 29).
• Surveys in medical journals indicate that up to 87 percent of pediatricians and family practitioners do not believe the hepatitis B vaccine is needed by their newborn patients (p. 51).

• Drug Firms supplying new "5-in-1" baby jabs fund head of Government Vaccination Committee
  The Chairman of the British government committee that approved the use of the new highly controversial five-in-one jab for babies is financially supported by the sole suppliers of the vaccine!! Michael Langman, who chairs the Joint Committee on Vaccination and Immunisation, receives "industrial support" funding from Merck Sharp and Dohme (MSD) for his work as a professor of medicine at Birmingham University.
  He has also declared a "non-personal interest" - defined as an interest that "does not benefit a member personally but which does benefit their position or department" - in another drugs company, Aventis Pasteur. Together, the drug manufacturers form Aventis Pasteur MSD, the company that will supply the vaccine in Britain. • Stones came out without a flush by spleenpain
  For the past 5 days I have been having the sensation like stones were popping down the common bile duct, all with out flushing. I was pretty sure that the location of the sensation was correct, but you know how this is. You can't be totally sure if what you're feeling is accurate. • Safer Vaccines for Children?
  Newborns with parents who conscientiously follow their doctors' advice become virtual pincushions. Babies get pricked and jabbed with needles nearly two dozen times in the first 18 months of life to protect them against once-devastating diseases like measles, tetanus and hepatitis. Added to the list is a new recommendation for toddlers and pregnant women: flu shots. But few parents are likely to be aware that along with the flu vaccine, their kids might be getting injected with potentially dangerous amounts of mercury.
  Drug makers have long added mercury-laced thimerosal to some vaccines to prevent bacterial growth. Mercury can cause neurological damage and learning problems, and many scientists worry about growing environmental exposures to it. There is a sharp and unresolved scientific debate over whether thimerosal in vaccines has contributed to a steep rise in reported autism cases.

• Tuberculosis Linked to Arthritis Drugs
  Doctors who prescribe potent immune-suppressing drugs for their rheumatoid arthritis patients should screen them for TB exposure and infection before prescribing these drugs, the CDC says. Tuberculosis is common in certain settings like jails, prisons, homeless shelters, chronic-care facilities, and in some countries.
  The arthritis drugs are all in a class called tumor necrosis factor-alpha (TNF-a) antagonist drugs and include Remicade, Enbrel, and Humira. These drugs work by blocking TNF-a, a chemical that triggers inflammation. They are approved for treating rheumatoid arthritis and other autoimmune diseases where inflammation is a key component of the illness.

• Flu Vaccine - doesn't work...and isn't Sterile!
  Chiron Corp. is delaying shipment of its flu vaccine, Fluvirin, because lots containing 4 million vaccines, do not meet product sterility standards, the biopharmaceutical company said on Thursday .
  Additional tests on new shipments will cause a delay on releasing the product until early October, the company said.

  Chronic fatigue syndrome [CFS] is a nightmare in more than just how victims of it feel physically and mentally - there is a huge issue about being believed.
  The lack of "objective" diagnosis for CFS means that a portion of its victims are going to be suspected of faking or embellishing illness for secondary gains of some sort. Some doctors actually call them liars [that happened to me once].

• Why Vitamin E was Ignored as Heart Therapy for 40 Years?
  New York Newsday carried a report that vitamin E had decreased the risk of heart disease between one-third and one-half. The studies reported were conducted at the Harvard School of Public Health. In one study, Dr. M. Stampfer found that during an eight year follow-up, women who had taken at least 100 iu of vitamin E daily for two years had a 46 percent lower risk of having a heart attack. This was based on a population study involving 87,245 women. The second study, on men, by Dr. E. Rimm, based upon 51,529 subjects, showed a 37 percent lower risk. They found that there was not enough vitamin E in food; Dr. Stampfer was so convinced by the data he is taking the vitamin himself.

• Just zapped my teeth! by anadeau7
  It didn't help much trying to eat roast beef. I got a swollen piece on my gum by my front eye tooth, as well as pierced in the roof of my mouth. I suffered last night with it and started a new routine to zap once a day for a week...just to see. It worked!!  Most all the pain left within the hour.  Whoo Hoo!

  I lent a zapper to my friend yesterday morning . As I said he had a badly infected molar abscess with pulsating pain shooting up into his head. I asked him if he would like to try the zapper as a little experiment to see if if would help to get rid of the infection and he said "at this point I'll try anything".

When I was around 13, I got my first pair of glasses.  Every half-dozen years or so, I had to have the prescription strengthened. • Flu Vaccine Still Contains Mercury
  Five years after the federal government asked drug makers to remove a mercury-based preservative from childhood vaccines, the battle over vaccine safety rages on a new front.
