acne and herpes?

Is their a connection between the 2? Is it possible that herpes can cause breakouts on the skin? Ive been through rigorous amounts of cleansing, supplementation, and emotional healing and still am battling acne. My esoteric therapist seems to think that oral herpes virus could be causing the Acne breakouts on my skin, as I have a major problem with mouths sores as well. After she suggested I get tested, My naturopath tested me for oral herpes virus and sure enough I had it.
