lithium and iodine

I read on healthtouch.com that anyone taking Lithium should not take Iodine.
It says it may increase the chance of side effects, but does not go into detail as to what side effects from which - the IO of the LIth.

Anyone here have any info?

I just bought some low dose (5mg) of Lithium Orotate. I am hoping it will help to relieve the allergy/reaction that I have to free glutamate, as it takes up "space" in the glutamate receptors.
Presently I cannot take Vit C, or anything Chloride ( like salt).

The Lugol's seems to be clearing my sinuses and I hate to leave off from it now.
I may experiment with a portion of the Lith. tablet.
