Persistent Chin Hair?

I have fairly long, fine, blond hair over my arms, face, torso etc, so for the most part I don't do too much plucking or shaving (other than legs (shaving) and armpits (rotary epilator)).
However, there are a few hairs on my chin and on the side of my face that I can't get rid of. They come in either blond or brown, but they are very thick and rigid, and I can totally feel them on my chin (bugs me all day if I don't have tweezers handy).
I seem to be developping more of them, also.

I don't really mind plucking them, but I have to carry my tweezers with me ALL the time, and am stuck plucking a few hairs 2-3 times a day. It's getting me down!

Is there anything at all I can do to slow down the growth or thickness? Some of the hairs feel like little needles!
