I had an immediate relief from the beginning using sunflower. As months went on, the pain never returned in full force BUT some of the other beginning effects were not as noticable.

I was a purist back then. I was arguing with people not to use any other oil, only sunflower or sesame. I was sticking by the Dr. Karach protocol like a monkey holding a banana....

But then one day I tried the sesame, and boom, a renewal of sorts. Others started experimenting with coconut oil and such, and I still was holding my tongue...

Then my husband bought a bottle of walnut oil instead of sesame. Poor guy had no idea I was such a stickler. We had no other oil in the house except olive. So I swished with the damn walnut oil. Yum, it tasted good. I thought, well what the hell....and my experience was even better than when I switched to the sesame. Something about walnut fullfills something my body needed. It is, to this day, my fav.

I next tried coconut oil (I was already reeling out of control here). It actually tasted TOO good. But the thing I noticed about it is that my teeth got whiter much quicker.

Now we are a connoisseur of oils. We shop around, discussing the possible virute, taste of this and that oil. My husband excitedly brought home a bottle of macadamia a couple of weeks ago, and I can see he's not thrilled with me sharing it. It was really expensive!

Lately I have only been swishing with an oil I got called Total EFA. I swallow a bit before I start to pull. It doesn't taste great, but for me, I know I've got the best of the essentials in my mouth.

I've been doing this over a year now. I can't tell you how much my gums hurt (throbbing actually) before I started. Bleeding horribly when I brushed.

So many of these things we do are a bit like hedging our bets. OP is definitely one of those, and I continue to be absolutely thrilled everytime I read of a dental visit. I live for that on this forum.

I really think you should branch out. I would be willing to wage a bet you haven't found "your oil" yet.
