Ovarian cysts are not normal!

Since you have not given any indication of your age, I don't know if you may be experiencing some perimenopause, which is the period before menopause, when things change, but don't stop. This perimenopause period can last some years, and for the most is just bothersome. It is normal now, but is not a healthy time and you actually can look on this as proof that you need to change your life. Spotting is not normal either, whether for one day or nine. And periods, whether just spotting or bleeding, should not last nine days. There are some ovarian cysts that come and go. However, there are ovarian cysts that require surgery. One of my good friends just had that experience. Your body is changing, and this is common but really not normal or healthy - do you understand my convoluted sentences?

Ovarian cysts, as well as prostate cancer and fibrocystic breast disease, can be treated with iodine. We have a really busy Iodine forum here at CureZone, and I would encourage you to begin by reading all the R, RN and BSA posts on that forum. I would think Lugol's or Iodoral would be good for you and probably help you get off or cut down your thyroid medication. But I want you to go in with you eyes open, with a lot of information about it, before you just jump right in and detox too fast. But I highly recommend Lugol's for you due to your weight, low thyroid, and your cysts.

At one time, maybe 10-15 years ago, I heard they were treating ovarian cysts with high doses of folate, or folic acid. I have not been able to verify that, but if I find that info again, I will pass it on to you on this forum.

I also think that grains are probably not good for you, as well as starches in general, due to weight and thyroid. This is my opinion, but based on my own experience with weight and thyroid problems. Why don't you try the diet I speak about in this thread--her symptoms are different than yours, and she is very slim, but the perimenopause and abdominal congestion fits, and maybe the estrogen dominance as well. Here is the link - read all the posts in the thread.

Perhaps your lack of funds and insurance at the moment may be a hidden blessing. Doctors are very good at giving drugs, setting broken bones, and cutting or burning out what does not work. More than that, they are not so good. You have to manage your own health. You have the opportunity to get healthy and change the rest of your life, on your own, with people around to answer questions for you (you may have to ask more than once, but people will answer) and support you. The Iodine Forum is awesome, and open to questions from new people. The other forums are good too, just not as busy as the Iodine Forum, so the information flows more freely there.

So you may want to google "perimenopause", "abdominal congestion," "PCOS," "ovarian cysts," and pay special attention to the stress and guilt paragraph in the link above.
