I think the hardest part is being around people who have not gone through the changes of those of us who fast.
We have changed.
This change is on so many levels.
It makes me think of a mistreated pet taken in as a rescue, and given love and comfort and healing foods (fasting and healing lifestyle). Then suddenly it is abused again (SAD diet) and given a few rounds of kicks to the gut.
What's this pet going to do? Withdraw, get sick, feel bad, be depressed.
I have learned that I will never be able to eat like other folks.
Funny how many stories of heroic pets who saved the lives of their owners are rescue animals. Well, we rescued ourselves .... and as we keep it up, we save our own lives.
I just had to learn to travel with my coolers full of juices, fruits and yummy raw things wherever I go, even if it is to a movie, a day of shopping, or whatever. I have learned to take my food to the restaurants with me. When the waiter comes for my order, I say, "do you have organic raw xyz on the menu?" Of course they say no. I say, "Well, I'm on a special diet, and I wasn't sure if you had it, so I brought some of my own just in case. I would be happy to pay your minimum charge if you just bring me a small plate." The waiter is usually relieved, says "no problemo" and you can happily eat in front of your party and everyone is happy because everyone eats what they want. I just have to carry some really good sealable containers that don't leak and plan ahead. If you have friends or family that would trip out on this, then you need to take them aside and have a loving conversation about the sensitivity of your body and ask for their support. Some people are momentarily embarrassed, but they can get over it.
By the way, they never charge me a mimimum charge, and I always leave a big tip. Everyone is happy. Add This Message To Your CureZone Favorites! ![Printer-friendly version of this page](/images/print_page.gif)
