Staying connected with people can be tough at any age, but many people find it particularly hard to maintain their positive connections with friends and family as they get older. Invest in Your Physical Health

If you don’t invest any time or effort in the friendships that you make, you can’t expect them to last long. Friendships don’t sustain themselves. For friends to keep their relationships viable, they have to put in ongoing efforts to include one another in their lives. 

Be conscientious about taking some time to touch base with the people who matter most to you. Even if you don’t really have anything substantive to tell somebody, you shouldn’t let that stop you from reaching out. Don’t ever assume that reaching out just to say hey is going to represent an unwelcome imposition. Even just a friendly text or sharing a news story that you think might interest somebody in your circle is a good way to let loved ones know that you’re thinking about them. 

Ultimately, equipping yourself to connect with people better empowers you to forge and sustain meaningful relationships. It could have a big difference in your quality of life and the lives of the people who you care about.
