Success on Trip!!

MC starting again Thursday, possible change to juice fasting

I have returned from my anniversary trip and got on the scale this morning. 232. Pretty much the same as before! I didn't gain weight on my vacation! YEAH!!!!

I did start each day off with fruit. Instead of packing my Vitamix, I just premade smoothies and froze them. Then I used them in the icechest as ice and drank one each morning. Then I let myself enjoy cheese and a few oz. of wine on the winery day. For the brewpub day (hubby is a brewer and had to check out a full day's worth of brewpubs), I stuck with salads and ice water w/lemon. Our "fancy" dinner was at Red Lobster. I had the salmon w/a double order of steamed vegees, served w/o the usual butter or butter sauce. I forgot my "Spike", so I did without. Everything tasted great.

I brought along home-roasted pumpkin seeds (seasoned with a bit of sea salt and slowly roasted at 200 degrees) and my raw crackers with avocados for snacks. I did pretty good, and totally skipped lunch one day.

I stuck with fruit juice on the airplane, and no snacks. Once home, I went to the grocery store in the morning and loaded up on fruits again. I checked out the "health food section" of the local market, and they had the Smooth Move tea on sale for $3.69 per box (usually just below $5), so I bought 3 boxes.

Then I came home and fell apart. I had ice cream and several slices of cheese. Now I'm going to put that behind me. I'm making my smooth move tea to get back into my cleansing routine. Tomorrow, the family wants to go out to a Chinese buffet to celebrate being home again (the last child will be home tomorrow if they lift the chain restrictions). I think I'll just eat a bunch of salad and maybe a few crackers before we go, so I won't be tempted to eat. Then I'll sit and chat while they eat. It's great Chinese food, but not how I want to go into my MC the next day!

So, I'll be starting on the lemonade on Thursday, and I'm just going to go day by day for a while. If I feel like switching to other juices, I will; if not, I'll stick with the lemonade. The liver flush before the MC probably won't happen, but I'll do another at the end. This time, before I start eating solids again. Then I'll go back to fasting, and continue until I'm at about 190. Once there, I'll start adding raw foods back (and gain a few pounds but still be under 200). I need to take the food slowly, as I still tend to crave unhealthy things. I am trying to get the family more involved with the healthy choices, but for now, I'm going to enforce the "snack cupboard rule". Any unhealthy food must be in the snack cupboard, which I will not open... not even to fix them a snack. I'll have plenty of fresh fruits and vegees around, and will try to have them in convenient places for them.

So that's my story of the past several days. I'm getting back on track after a slight derailment, and ready to move on.
