Day One.

29 year old with severe eczema embarks on a 30 day juice fast.

Today is Monday April 24, 2006, the first day of my planned 30 day Juice Fast. Hello. Let's get some background out of the way. I'm a 29-year-old male living in NYC. I moved here in 2001, 6 months before the world changed forever. I've had eczema my entire life. Right now, I've got it on about 90% of my body, only the parts I can’t get to with my talons have been spared. My face hurts because it's tight and dry. I move like a robotic because my skin seemingly can’t retain moisture. Ford models ain’t calling any day soon. About a month a go, I completely flipped my diet, Xing out fast foods, fried foods, junk, etc.; and focused on eating raw foods, vegetables, fruits, and juice. This leads me to today. I feel great. I could probably run a marathon tomorrow. But I am suffering through one of the worst cases of eczema I have ever experienced. Being the optimistic guy that I am, I attribute this outbreak to a "healing crisis". I'm detoxing. By eating cleaner, years and years of accumulated garbage is slowly leaving my body. I’m cool with that. I’m not looking for a magic bullet, where my skin clears up instantly. I’m looking for a slow and measured natural solution. Let’s get crazy- my skin is already terrible from the diet change. Let’s change the diet even more, give my body a better chance to heal and drink nothing but juice for the next 30 days. Today is day one. I had about 2 liters of Volvic water, 16 ounces of half carrot/ half orange juice, and a couple cups of white tea, sweetened with a drop of honey. I feel great. But I look terrible.
