Mucous & Multiple Bowel Movements

Was it worth it?

Perhaps this morning's events are a coincidence, that I was ill beforehand and that the Doritos and Beer have no relation to how I feel today. Or maybe I could just admit that last nights activities caused a strong allergic reaction. Read on, and decide for yourself.

Following my mini junk food binge, I fell asleep at my usual time only to wake up this morning with hunger pains. I then proceeded to rise and commence my daily morning duties, when I felt a sudden urge to go to the bathroom. My bowels then proceeded to empty themselves, which is quite unusual as I am accustomed to performing my first movement 1 hour after rising.

I sat down at my computer and began working when, 15 minutes later, I felt another urge to go to the bathroom. Following this event, my nose started running a clear uncoloured mucous. My sinuses felt clogged and I could barely concentrate. Despite all that, I continued working until half an hour later, I once again felt the need to visit the toilet.

So that makes for a total of three bowel movements in the span of one hour. I should also add that they weren't as solid as 'normal' bowel movements should be - sort of a cross between normal and the type experienced when one has diarrhea. My nose, as of this writing (2 hours later), is still running, and I can feel another bowel movement coming on.

I've come to some conclusions about how this came to be, as a result of the extensive reading I've done here on Curezone and other sites, including experiences friends of mine have had on hygenic diets.

For those who don't know, a 'Hygenic Diet' is an eating plan that excludes the most common sources of allergies, among them wheat, dairy and nightshade vegetables like tomatoes. The participant eats in this fashion for a couple weeks, before starting a new phase of 're-introduction' where these excluded foods are added back to their diet in order to determine the source of their allergies.

So let's make an assumption that I did such an experiment without realising it. I ate 'hygenically' for a few days, then introduced the 'offenders' last night. And offensive they were! The results: mucous, diarrhea and sneezing - all in accordance with typical allergic reactions. So I can make the following conclusion: I am allergic to either or all of: wheat (from the Doritos), preservatives (from the Beer and the Doritos), artifical colors (Doritos) and yeast (Beer). I'm sure there's more to add to that list, but I don't want to go there, because it's frightening to know what's being added to processed foods these days.

In order to really substantiate my conclusions I'm going to have to repeat the experiment again, with the difference being that I'll eat hygenically this week and just indulge in beer next Saturday. As for the Doritos, well, it doesn't take a degree in Nutrition to realise that eventhough they're really delicious, they are in essence just artificially-flavoured processed matter in a chewable format. Whether I'm allergic to them or not doesn't alter the fact that my body definitely has no use for the trans-fats, preservatives and chemical additives they contain. I'll just keep that in mind when assessing any future cravings I have for junk food.

Now if you'll excuse me, I have to visit the little girls room, again!
