Hi all,
I just wanted to share that i've experienced incredible energy having taken coeQ10 for the past couple of days.
Going from a mostly bed-ridden state to doing chores, gardening, walking etc...and my joint/muscle aches and pains have been very minimal. It's been MONTHS since i had anywhere near this energy level. I'm being mindful of enjoying it and not abusing this GIFT of mental and physical energy.
I took a large dose - 3 Grams, as a treatment for potential Tapeworm infection per H. Clark guidelines. I didn't expect to FEEL good on this stuff! I mixed the powder in raw olive oil. Thought i would try it as, unlike the standard deworming herbs, CoeQ10 is an antioxidant and the body LIKES it (i had a terrible time with the Wormwood , cloves etc).
Despite not seeing expelled Tapeworms yet - i'm experiencing these great effects i had not expected.
I also had NO side effects of a large Q10 dose - unusual for me as i normally react to everything! It really has helped at the mitochondrial level to produce/release energy as CoeQ10 is known to do.
The energising effects were felt about 6 hrs after ingestion...and have continued for 3 days now. It's often touted that a few months of dosing on Q10 is needed to feel the benefits but large doses give effects that day.
I really wanted to share this as so far this is the ONLY supplement i've taken, despite being on the NB protocol and altered AF diet, supplements, bed rest, loads of sleep, no stress etc for months, that has actually given me some energy without side-effects. It's remarkable.
I've also had 80% reduction in anxiety, panic symptoms. The energy i have isn't the 'wired and tired' speedy adrenaline energy i'm used to either - it feels very natural.
Just wanted to share about coeQ10 as it's a worthy addition to any protocol if fatigue is an issue.

I was recently reading Dr. Sarah Myhill's book on ME/CFS and she mentioned that CoQ10 is direct fuel for the mitochondria, which are the cells that actually provide energy to our bodies. 90% of people with Fibromyalgia, ME/CFS (and probably AF) suffer from mitochondrial damage. This is probably why it is helping you so much. CoQ10 is one of the cornerstones in her treatment protocol.
I was thinking of giving it a try myself, and now that I've heard your report I want to even more. My fibromyalgia has been really bad lately, and I would love to have something to take away the pain (besides pharmascueticals of course)

Thanks for the link - really interesting article.
I was taking it just for 2 days at 3G per day - however i started feeling more energised about 6 hrs after ingestion.
I took such a high dose as i was doing the Hulda Clark worming protocol for Tapeworm using high dose CoeQ10. I expected to start feeling dodgy like i do on parasite herbs, but instead started to feel great! lol
I've been taking 1G pure extract every other day and am still experiencing mind/body clarity and energy.
The 3G dose lasted for 3 days of energy without having to re-supplement inbetween. I've been experimenting with how it effects me - everyone will be different.
The fabulous thing about Q10 is that it's fat soluble so possible for the body to store it. I've never tested my Q10 levels but considering my response to it i imagine they were low.

Like you, i have read how others promote its use but really didn't think it would do anything for me as it's generally touted for older people.
It was a surprise to have days of feeling like i have my natural energy back after so long of feeling fatigued.
It must be helping at the mitochondrial level, which is needed when there is a sodium/potassium imbalance due to AF.
Would really recommend trying it for your fibro.
I've been upping my antioxidants and i think the synegistic blend is more powerful than any one antioxidant used by itself.

This is a reply to # 2,040,951Yes, i was surprised to see the side-effects listed. I did a search on side effects of large doses of Q10 before taking it and the symptoms, as you say, i've had often before so wasn't put off.
I always suffer from side-effects...which is why i was so shocked to not suffer with a single side-effect and gain alot of energy and inner calmness :-)
(I don't think i managed to kill a Tapeworm tho! lol)
Antioxidants i get mainly from food like berries, hazelnuts, some beans.
Supplementing glutathione, and might also include PQQ alongside this as well as the coeQ10 for a synergistic super-blend.

What's amazing is that i'm having a string of days of continuous energy despite lowering the dose of Q10 to 1 gram every other day...this energy is something i haven't experienced for many months. 1 day out of 14 would be the average.
I'm not saying i could run a marathon or anything! I am able to look after myself fully more, my animals, do chores, gardening, prepare meals...all the stuff that seemed impossible to even face before due to minimal physical and mental energy.
Never thought i'd ever say i'm elated to do chores!

CoQ10 is essential for the body. There is no doubt about it. Every organ needs it but it is especially good for the heart.
But if you are over 40 (some say 30) years old, you really should buy ubiquinol, which is the reduced and bioavailable form of CoQ10. I have been using ubiquinol for several months and there is a marked increase in my energy level.
As we get older it is more difficult for CoQ10 to break down properly to provide the amount needed for the body. So, if you are older and taking CoQ10, you can't be completely sure how much ubiquinol that you are getting.
Yes, ubiquinol is expensive but well worth it. Our health food store sells 60 100mg. caps for $49.95. I buy it from Swanson for $21.99 regular price. Sometimes it goes on sale. Purplepixie, I'll bet if you bought ubiquinol you would need to take far less of it than the CoQ10.
BUT, and this is a BIG but. Ubiquinol is distributed by many different supplement companies, so you can compare prices. Just be sure that "Kaneka QH" is on the label. That is the company who developed the process.

Thanks for the info on Ubiquinol. It's great to hear it's helping your energy levels too.
Once i've finished my coeQ10 extract i might try a tub of Ubiquinol to compare effects.
Ubiquinol is quite expensive here in Europe - and to purchase from the US would mean import duties and delayed shipping. I'll have to really research a good price.
Gee, the one supplement i find helps and it's one of the most expensive! Typical! ;-)

I bought it in powder form as an extract from Nicotiana Tobacum from a UK bulk seller - no brand.
I understand a lot of the powdered bulk form is imported from China/Japan.
As already said in the thread - Ubiquinol is in the converted coeQ10 form for full absorbtion so you wouldn't need to dose so high as you would pure coeQ10 extract.
I dosed 3G as a worming protocol - never expected to have any GOOD side effects. I had 1G yesterday and still feel the energising effect.
I found a source of coeQ10 really cheap, whereas looking for ubiqionol it's really pricey for a mere 200mg/60 tabs. It's cheaper for me to have 1G pure extract than 200mg Ubiquinol.
I also have gastro absorbtion issues so am amazed i am feeling effects from the straight coeQ10 extract.
It's worth trying the extract first to see if you feel improvements but if not try the Ubiquinol.

I love taking powders and liquid supplements myself, as i too have GI issues, so i will search for a COQ10 powder form here in the US either in a specialty store or online. Yes I have never taken any Ubiquinol, as it is expensive, But i will make the investment in whichever form I have to! I take a myriad of things, and i am getting a small energy bump from my Creatine Powder, which actually ahs 1000 mg of D3 included in it. But Im Type I Diabetic and def could use the COQ 10. So thanks again and mucho great health to you!

This is a reply to # 2,040,950Glad to hear your program is helping you too Thundervelvet :-) The coeQ10 might be a wonderful addition to it - it is worth a try.
I know often is the case, what works for one person won't necessarily work for another, but i had to share my experience as i've been diligent with my diet, taking good quality nutrients and still have been in a fog of constant fatigue. I've been detoxing copper/aluminium and mercury throughout so i think that's been a big drain on energy levels.
The CoeQ10 has helped lift the fog and give me a boost - when a lot of stuff hasn't - so i had to share.
What other things are you using to help your situation?
With the adrenal fatigue and thyroid imbalances i am coming from an angle of trying to boost my immune system, increase better digestion/absorbtion (probiotics/psyllium & Bentonite (NOT daily shakes, 1 a week currently), improve liver function etc. In the hope that in the long term repair and hormonal healing will occur when all those functions are improved.

This is a reply to # 2,039,921I used to take 400 mgs of COQ10 capsules and felt a slight improvement in energy, but discovered a way to take 30 mgs and get so much energy my skin would tingle for hours.
After buying liquid COQ10 (Vitol brand on Amazon) I tried putting in about 30 mgs worth (1/4 of a dropper) into my oil pulling oil (coconut or flax seed oil in my case) and never had such a Q10 blast in my life.
The reason was that COQ10 applied directly on the gums with a carrier oil has had amazing results in curing gum disease, recission etc in recent studies. What I wasn't prepared for was how incredibly amplified the effect of the COQ10 is when you do this.
This form is also by far the cheapest way to get high doses of Q10 which normally is very expensive. For $20 every 3-6 months for the Vitol, I'm able to absorb huge amounts of Q10 where I would previously pay that per week, and not have anywhere near the effect.
I can't even do it more than a couple times a week because of the shocking amount of energy I get. But before any day I play tennis or raquetball I'll do the oil pull in the morning and watch my endurance go way up and me play like a maniac. Most of the players in my RB league are between 20 and 40 yo. I'm 57 and won the league since I've started doing the oil pull with Q10. Check out the oil pulling forums on CZ.

I've been trying to think how to optimise the absorbtion of Q10...and of course the gums seem to be the premier route of absorbtion.
Having taken the Q10 powder with oil , and with having questionable gut absorbtion, liver function, i think most of it is wasted to be honest.
I'll have to experiment and see if swishing it around my gums improves the results.
Will also try the liquid Q10 when i run out of this powder for comparison.
I just found out from genetic results that glutathione/q10 producing pathways are compromised and therefore am more likely for oxidant build-up - i think that's why the Q10 feels so good.

This is a reply to # 2,048,657Yes, you're right, the mouth is the best way to absorb most supplements and the stomach generally the worst (with exceptions).
Q10 has it's effects amplified when combined with oil. Plus Q10 in an oil base applied to the gums has amazing benefits to gum health, healing gum disease, etc.
With oil pulling you're leaving the Q10 20 minutes to absorb in the mouth which is super powerful and efficient. I recommend the liquid like the Vitol because a) it tastes good (which is important for keeping in your mouth 20 minutes) b) it's powerful at 200 mgs per dropper (I use a fourth of a dropper making a bottle last at least 6 months) and c) in liquid form it's easiest for absorption.
Do this and for the $20 bottle of liquid Q10 you'll get the most powerful (absorbed) dose of Q10 you'll find anywhere with amazing benefits to your energy, oral and cardiovascular health anywhere from 6 months to a year.
I used to spend $40 per MONTH on high dose Ubiquinol capsules with a barely noticeable effect. Doing it while pulling will give you energy through the roof.
