Help. Should I stop the Master Cleanse early?
I have been on The Master Cleanser for 4 Days and the first day was great. I had 3 -4 eliminations of significant size. I felt great and lost 4lbs. The second day was fine still felt good but only one medium elimination. Day three awful stomach cramps no eliminations even after the Salt Water Flush. It is now day 4 coming to an end of day 4 and it has been 52 hours since my last elimination. the stomach cramps are still there and I have done the SWF (Salt-Water-Flush) again with no real results. I have tried to go but it is clear/yellow liquid and not very much of it. I would not call it a elimination. I have followed the book and not got the results. I have lost 7 pounds. No food cravings at all. Dont even feel like eating. I have been taking the lemonade approx 7 to 10 servings a day. Most of the I have been peeing away. My water intake has not changed much but the urination has more than doubled. Any suggestions? Should I start the end diet process with the orange juice.

Stomach cramps are not good, that's not natural healing crisis reaction, that's just a reaction. Perhaps you need to stop the SWF (Salt-Water-Flush) for a day or two, and stop the senna tea if you're taking that. Give your stomach/colon a break. Drink more water and less of the lemonade drinks too.
If you are otherwise feeling great, keep it up! The longer you go the more benefits you get. :) I just don't like the sound of that cramping, that's not right. Listen to you body, it knows best! :)-

I sit on the toliet and pass very little, my "butt pee" is very yellow with just little things in it not much passing at all.I am experiencing the same thing. The SWF (Salt-Water-Flush) haven't bothered me except my gag refelx, Normally it's just the senna tea that gives me the cramps and I wasn't worried about it because I was sleeping and it was a way my body was telling me to get up so that way I don't mess my bed is how I was taking it just the control of it, but if she just said it's not healthy than I am with you and I too am on day 4. So I am interested to see what advice someone posts because if I am not in the good maybe it's time for me to stop except I am going for 40 days. Hope it works out for you, Melanie -

I can't remember why the Master-Cleanse book says no enemas. Darnit, it's been years since I first read it! Maybe someone else can clarify. I go ahead and do them every-other day, or just 2x a week, when I fast. When I'm done iwth the fast I take care to eat a diet that will replace/aid bowel flora.
If you do an enema you really don't need to do an SWF, it's the same thing, except the SWF (Salt-Water-Flush) flushes more of the digestive tract than an enema can.
Lordy, of course do what you need to sleep thru the night! :) I time things so that I go in the morning, sleepy-time BMs are quite out of the question! sheesh! :)

Then it goes on to say that a SWF (Salt-Water-Flush) is cleanising the colonic woithout the harmful effects of customary colonics and enemas. The book is about 28 years old so maybe we have come far with enemas. I think I will start doing them. So what diet is it that you move to afterwards to help with getting all the correct the bowel flora? I am moving to a raw food diet after this. I think I will pcik up that tea you mentioned in your post about the Senna switch off a bit. Tonight I drank a fasting tea so maybe that will help also. Thanks alot :) Mel-

just been reading about how everyone's getting yellowish-orangey bm... at this stage i have no actual solids coming out to speak of, but the color is still regular brownish...? is it because my liver is still producing bile...? (i heard that liver bile is responsible for the brown/greenish bm color... ) and if my liver is still producing bile, am i not successfully giving my digestive system a rest...?!! a bit confused here... :-\
also i get bm VERY REGULAR... more than 3 times a day, which is good... some days i hardly have to take swf, cos i just start the spontaneous evacuation in the morning....-

and since it is a suggestion and it pretty much liquid it would not be counter productive. it will still cleanse and rinse the body of impurities and being that it is liquified it would not do anything that food from regular eating would do to the digestive system.-

What there's no room for is people making recomendations that are plain WRONG and when it is pointed out in a ***non confrontentional*** manner what is *actually* mentioned in the book they come back and pretend that this is what they had said all along and still ignore the *FACT* that it is metioned in a section for a particular *SPECIAL CONDITION* that the person that inquired made absolutly no indication that this was their case (diabetic).
Not only was the recomendation WRONG and only recomended in a *SPECIAL CONDITION* but also recommending it in a situation that is perfectly **NORMAL** and no need to change anything or have any cause for alarm. ******THAT****** is PRECISELY what there's "no room for in this forum"
If you are trully trying to be helpful as *I* attempted to be by presenting some USEFUL FACTS then contribute something/anything USEFUL and stay on subject and discuss the matter at hand and not interject with some useless pseudo do-gooder remark that contributes absolutly NOTHING and helps no one . *THAT* is what there's no room for here or anywhere else for that matter. Like sargent Friday would say " Just the facts ma'am".......;+)

A question for you Pro's,
Since I have 100 pounds to lose, would I be better off doing 5 - 21 day fasts or 3 - 40 day fasts? (hoping I could make it to 40)
Robin Quivers did several 21 day fasts to lose 70 pounds, so I am hoping since I am a fattie too... I might come close to her results, just gotta throw in another 1 or 2 - 21 dayers.
9 pounds in 7 days certainly has me motivated. Will there be some days ahead where there will not be any weight loss? Remember, I am OBESE!
I started out last weekend... 5 ft 2" & 223.5 pounds.
Also, what is the best time frame for off the fast before you go back on another one if you want to do what I need to do... lose 100 pounds?
Otherwise... I feel fine - actulally I feel GREAT!

I'm not a pro, but I've done a few fasts so far, and am on Day 3 of a very long one right now. I'm also obese (another 80 to go).
Really, it's up to you and your body. As you fast, listen to what your body is saying. Not your stomach, tastebuds, etc. I have found it difficult to get past 3 weeks because that's when my joint pain becomes unbearable. This time, I'm not tied to a regular job, so I'm gonna push through.
I've read and have been told that the longer fasts allow your body to do deeper cleaning. For me, this translates to more pockets of fat emptied, so I'm going to go for the longer fast. I'm planning to stay fasting until I hit a specific weight goal, not for a certain number of days. I will also be doing other things (using my colema board and getting massages) along the way. Hopefully, this will help my cleanse be more successful.
Personally, I lose about 2 pounds per day for 5 days, then it drops and eventually settles to about 5 pounds per week. I'm sure it will slow as we get closer to our goal weights. Another thing to consider is that when your weight "stalls", your body is probably turning attention to something else that we can't measure on a scale. Something it needs to take care of. Wait it out (no pun intended). Also, use measurements to keep track of your progress. This can really help when you're at a point that exercise is adding muscle. You may not drop weight, but you may lose inches. Once the weight loss slows down, try to not weigh as often, and go with how you're feeling, how your clothes are fitting, etc. Watch for milestones along the way (I noticed how much more strap was left at the end of the airline seatbelt compared to last year.) Little things keep the joy in fasting. Celebrate the small successes, and reward the big ones (not with food, of course.) You WILL get where you want to be if you keep on (or near) the path to health.

You are first one that I have found that has a LONG WAY TO GO! I might hit 10 pounds in 7 days tomorrow. I hope. That will leave 90 more to go.
I probably will not lose as fast as you because I am 50ish and cannot do ANY strenuous exersizes due to neck and lower back injuries.
Of course I am shooting for 10 pounds lighter than I what would be satisified at. I should expect a weight gain of at least 10 pounds after going back to FOOD, shouldn't I?
I will go back to a vegetarian (and fruit) diet that I got myself used to for 3 months before the MC. It maintained my 223 pounds but I couldn't lose a pound!
Thanks for the inside scoop on what to expect as the weight loss tapers off. I thought that the pound a day would taper off after about 40 pounds.
I too would like to push for a weight goal and then take a SHORT BREAK!
My goal is 40 pounds and if I feel up to it, I might go longer. I was hoping 3 - 40 day fasts would do it... Looks like I'll be fasting all friggin year here!

Salt Water Flush - Never Again!!! (don't follow with juice)
I passed five collective feet of mucoid plaque yesterday, but felt like I still had to "go." I felt clogged. I did an enema last night, but only a little water came back out, with a bunch of toilet-paper-looking candida flakes. This morning I still couldn't go, even though I've been eating regularly all along.
Today I didn't eat anything. I've been preoccupied with cleaning house, and surprisingly not hungry. This afternoon, I decided to try a salt water flush. I used Shelley's (askshelley.com) recipe of two TBSP non-iodized Sea Salt in a warm quart of filtered water. I was only able to drink slightly more than half of it before I gave up. I was so nauseous. It did work, though. About twenty minutes later I passed the most foul-smelling, disgusting-looking bunch of mucoid plaque. It was shorter than I'd expected, but much thicker. I'll spare you the other details.
After that, I hoped more would follow, but I just kept feeling nauseous. I probably did a dumb thing. I ate a tiny piece of honeydew melon. Then after awhile I ate another tiny piece. It helped get the salt taste out of my mouth. And still later, I decided it would be all right to eat/drink, but nothing sounded good except apple juice. I drank a little, then felt another movement coming. I don't know WHAT it was, but it fell into the toilet like a ROCK, followed by diarrhea. I barely made it out of the bathroom, then, before throwing up salt water and bitter bile all over the floor.
EDITING TO ADD - Since I posted, I've had three more big rounds of dark water/diarrhea. The big mp and that 'rock' were obviously the plugs. I'm wondering now, eeuuw, if the 'rock' might have been a... parasite? of some huge sort? It didn't feel like a rock coming out, it felt like a regular bowel movement, but it was so heavy! Incidentally, I know this is weird, but I weighed myself while I was waiting for the swf to work, and again just a minute ago (about an hour apart) and there was a two pound difference!
Drinking salt water was very very difficult for me. I don't think I'll ever try this method again! But... it did work. I think it might have been the fruit and apple juice, mixed with salt-water that was apparently still in my stomach, that made me throw up.

Ugh, yes. I did read some posts where this was being debated, but I trusted Shelley. SHELLEY!!!!!!!! Here's what I read - copied from askshelley.com:

Salt Water Flush
The Salt Water Flush is basically an enema that you drink. The advantage over the enema is that unlike an enema, you also flush your small intestine. The disadvantage is you have to drink a lot of salty water, blech! :)
Warm up one quart of good filtered water, NOT distilled, in a safe, non-reactive pan. It should feel comfortably warm, but not hot, to your elbow.
Add two tablespoons of salt. It can be Hains Sea Salt - non-iodized, or a better Sea Salt , or Kosher Salt. Just don't use an iodized salt.
Taste the water. It should be as salty as chicken soup. If it is not salty enough, you will absorb the water rather than pass it, which will make you bloated and ill, and overwhelm the kidneys, so if in doubt, use too much salt rather than too little.
Drink it all down at once best you can.
Crouch down and start rubbing your abdomen in a clockwise direction, helping the water pass through and dislodging any impacted fecal matter.
Release as needed. It should come out as "butt pee."
Note: You should skip at least one meal, preferably a few meals prior to doing a SWF. For instance, do it in the morning after skipping dinner and snacks the night before. It is best done while fasting. It's safe to do the day after a good fiber shake if you used a safe fiber, but not good to do if you are suffering chronic constipation and wish to induce a BM. The water might balloon out your intestines too much around the impacted fecal matter. Do not do a salt water flush if your tongue has thick cracks and grooves on it.

Yes EXACTLY! You should only use 2 TEASPOONS of non-iodized Sea Salt for a quart of water. 2 TBS is way, way too much. This salt water flush is associated with The Master Cleanser (lemon, cayenne, maple syrup) cleanse. I've been doing it for years and it works really well!!! I cannot, however, imagine doing the salt flush with any kind of food in the stomach or intestines. I only do it after at least three days of being on The Master Cleanse when the gastro tract is empty and open. Good luck!

Drinking salt water was very very difficult for me. I don't think I'll ever try this method again! But... it did work. I think it might have been the fruit and apple juice, mixed with salt-water that was apparently still in my stomach, that made me throw up. After the blockage was passed, much fluid passed. I'm fine now - can drink/eat anything because there isn't a pool of salt water clogged up in my stomach.

Any recommendations? I weighed while waiting for the swf, then right afterwards. I was two pounds lighter. It's a digital scale, which probably rounds to nearest pound, so maybe it wasn't a full two pounds? Anyway, I just weighed again, and it's UP four pounds! I've never been obsessive about my weight before, but I've been curious since I started passing mucoid plaque. I have been really thirsty (and tired) since this afternoon's swf. Maybe it's all liquid. Maybe it's the way I was standing. Who knows. Blah! I was LIKING the "two pounds less"!!!-

Another tip on weight loss is to do Liver Flushes every 2 weeks - they reeeeally help get your body back into balance...and I've heard a number of people say that since they started Liver Flushing they have lost weight.
Ideally for weight loss AND overall Health: Master-Cleanse for 10 days with b&p's and a parasite cleanse if you think you can handle a lot of intense cleansing....ending with a Liver flush!
After fasting, continue to take the b&p's 3X a day while eating healthily (one raw meal a day for sure - enzymes!!), and drinking 2 litres of WARM water....continue with the parasite cleanse...and do Liver Flushes every 2 weeks.
You'll be on your way to losing weight AND feeling great!

i dont have a scale, but i know i have lost weight, a signifigant amount, in only five days. my love handles are melting
of course, its somewhat tortorous to not eat, but the benefits are so great it is well worth it. food isnt going anywhere, it will be there when we finish. plus, i know i for one will appreciate every mouthfull about 200 times more than i did before.
i saw a salad on the table today, then some nice warm rice on the stove... both smelled so good. lately i have been eating through my nose. its quite enjoyable.
i was so tempted to eat a nice bowl of rice with spirulina and braggs in it, i would be so easy and taste so good!
i thought, man, this takes alot of will power!!!! i am amazed i have been able to follow through with this this many
days. but there is no stopping me now, despite the grape i ate last night!!
the body goes into "fasting mode" after the first day
thats when your breath smells FOUL and you start burning the fat off you - actually that smell, if i understand it correctly is ketones - the stored fat.
all of those stupid miracle products that claim to burn fat off of you? bs all the way. regular fasting, exersize and establishing healthy eating habits will work for sure.
but dont exersize too much on the MC, you need that energy for the cleansing and healing your body is going through

I was planning to do just The Master Cleanser for a few days to get good general detox, then focus on bowel cleansing. After reading these posts, I'm wondering if that is necessary.
How does one bring this subject into general discussion? I'm wondering what the folks at church would think of all this. But then again, when was a good poop practically a spiritual experience for the average guy? -

Yes! I had an interesting experience on my first Master-Cleanse back in November. I found that my imagination was a FABULOUS substitute for the real thing. And I wasn't even trying....I'd sit at the dinner table and watch my boyfriend eat some yummy food and I was sooo detached it was weird...my imagination would say: I know what that tastes like and....who cares!? I could imagine it in my mouth and knew exactly what it would taste like, how good it was and it seemed that that was all I needed! Very strange. The detatched fantasy was just as good as the real thing! hmmmm...

its quite attractive, actually. maybe i will start a new beauty fad.
man, last night i had a hard time, my gut was so bloated i looked pregnant! it hurt and i couldnt get anything to come out, even with an enema. so i took a hot bath, which i stayed in for a long long time... then i drank a bunch of really strong smooth move tea and went to bed. i woke up at 4 am feeling aweful pains, i drank more tea and then fell back asleep until 5 when i woke up and finally released alot of stuff. but it wasnt what i was hoping it would be- it was what appeared to be mostly psyllium husk and mucous. there were some ropey things too, but very loose compared to what i had before.....
my stomach went all flat again. and i went to bed.

maybe i will put it on here later.....
personally, i would recommend the shakes with the MC, but i am a total novice at this. this is my first cleanse, i am on day 6.
i am so glad i have the luxury of a vacation right now so i can be focusing all my energy to this cleanse.

Sometimes people DO get bloated with the b&p's...and that can feel kind of crummy...but if they're allowed to work their way through you in their own sweet time, they loosen the mucoid plaque, rehydrate it a bit (bloating you) and then scrub it out...if you push them out sooner with SWF's or lax teas then they don't have time to do their thang. So, if you don't poo one day...just keep drinking that water (I wouldn't take more than 1 lax tea a day) and hope that you'll poo the next day. If not, THEN do something more drastic.
Hope this helps a bit!

Hi can somebody please help me i have been having stomach problems for 7 months now mostly constipation and several bloating the doctor said my colon was backed up another said I had ibs I also had a swollem submental lymph node within that time spand I recently started doing antifungal and I've seen little red strings in my stool i think but just yesterday I brought pyshillum husk and this came out the next day with other rubbery gooey forms of this whith white strings on it I also have two soft bumps on both inner cheeks of mouth that have been there for a while and weird indentations in my forehead area please help me I'm miserable with constipation and bloating

Well, we call this forum "Candida", but we might as well call it yeast - as a general rule, yeast is white so definitely yeasty - incredibly mucus like - what did you do to get this out? If you did something drastic it could be the mucus lining - intestinal lining - which protects the intestinal membrane.
