I have had a bit to do with parrots and lumps in their stomachs, finding that most parrots are always using their beeks on the wire mesh, they chew of the galvanizing or other metals
of the mesh on cages, this builds like the fur ball in cats and the birds die of metal poisoning.
ClO2 in their water will oxidize the metals and keep them under control!
