My father had papillary cancer as well but his grew threw the windpipe even before they caught it. They thought he had bronchitis until the CT scan showed it had grew threw and he had to have surgery to remove it.
I learned a lot after this but I wanted to let you know of a clinic in Tulsa, OK that does Photodynamic Therapy. Since your possible tumor is very small at this point they would inject you with a special die then they apply the Laser which heats up the cancer cells as kills them. I know the treatments cost about $1500 per session so in your case I would say 3 treatments or less because its very small.
This is a non surgical route you could do as a good precaution while seeing what your Iodine levels as Chris B mention.
