Re: Questions about my last ultrasound.

There were NEW differences in my last ultrasound (6 months apart from the prior one, taken in October 2010) that I will list here. The question being if taking the liver formula and 3 tablespoons of DE per day as of 20 days ago could have anything in any way to do with this, because that´s the only different thing I have done in this while and some bingeing out of my frugivore diet (which has kept me ship shape all this time).

LIVER: the most worrisome is the appearance of a granular texture surrounding all of it (which, as I understand it, has a high probability of being fibrosis).

Fibrosis is actually a part of the liver healing itself and the tissue consists primarily of type 1 collagen.  The good news is that it is reversible in time.  Fibrinolytics such as dan shen or protease enzymes on an empty stomach can speed up the process.

The other is the enlargement of a giant hemangioma that went from 5,7cm to 6,7cm and is quite close to the portal vein.

Again this is generally not something to worry about. Hepatic hemangiomas are actually pretty common, and more common in women.  They also tend to grow larger in women, but rarely grow to a size that is problematic.  It is not know what causes these but some doctors believe that people are born with them since they are also seen in infants sometimes.

One thing you can do though that should slow down the growth is increase your intake of ashwagandha, which is a natural angiogenesis inhibitor.

KIDNEY: the enlargemnet of a cyst.

Kidney cysts are fluid filled sacs.  The cause again is not really known in most cases although they can be hereditary in some cases or linked to kidney cancer.  For the last reason the doctors should keep a close eye on it and maybe do a CT scan to look for characteristics that can determine if it is benign or malignant.  In general though cysts are best addressed with lymphatic cleansing herbs such as chickweed, mullein leaf and red root.

GALLBLADDER:(which was always normal) the appearance of a thick residue (that´s all that is written about it).

Sounds likely like sludge, which is often precipitating cholesterol, although it can also be from dissolving gallstones.  Fibers and lecithin granules are especially helpful for this as is small amounts of oils with each meal to keep the bile moving.

If the answer is negative, what do you think may be happening? Could eventual bingeing out of my frugivore diet be partially responsible?

The fibrosis is normal as again it is part of the liver's healing process.  As for the hemangioma and cyst it is hard to say whether the diet is playing a major role or not since the causes are not really known.  But I do not like any diet that relies heavily on one thing since this can lead to deficiencies or other issues.  For example, we know that high levels of fructose, found in fruits, is not healthy for the liver.  So it would not hurt to cut back on the fruit some and increase the variation in your diet.

Thank you so.

PS: Oh, there was something else I did for about 45 days and that may have also contributed to cause this: I was drinking one 300ml glass of water kefir everyday...and the taste of alcohol was very very clear. I left it to ferment for two days before drinking. What do you say?

With the small amount of alcohol there should not be a problem unless your body has a hard time breaking down alcohol to begin with, which can occur in some people.

Also, Hv, internet searching did not help much with these:
I had a slightly high Ionic Ca level of 5,0 mg/dL(Ref: 4,0 to 4,8 mg/dL). And a high Amilase level of 172 U/L (Ref: up to 109 U/L). What can these mean?

I would not worry based on one test.  Best thing to do is to keep an eye on it.  If the calcium remains high then they should check your parathyroid hormone levels.  The elevated amylase indicates an issue with he pancreas, but the liver issues can also lead to this if the ducts are affected.
