Laser hair removal and electrolysis is usually considered semi-permanent, it needs follow ups and maintenance.

Also alot of people have been talking about "threading" to remove hair. Supposedly it can cause damage to hair follicles, just like laser + electrolysis with multiple treatments. I have no personal experience with this, but it might be something you can try that is less expensive. It will only work on small areas, like the face.
