it only took me about a week to START seeing improvements. The thing is, if your condition is caused by contact dermatitis, you'll not only have the peeling, but I'm pretty sure you'll have a burning/itching as well as inflammation as those are signs of an allergy. If, like OP said, the burning stops then you are on the right path. After my lips stopped burning, the swelling went away. I can only speak from personal experience of course.
