Does no moisturizer make your skin more moist?

I never apply moisturizer on my skin. Dermatologists always suggest to apply moisturizer on your wet skin after a shower. If skin is supposed to make more oil if you do not apply moisturizer, then why is my skin so dry? Or my body is not making more moisture without moisturizer. So, why would lips make more moisture if you do not apply moisturizer? Should I at least apply moisturizer on my body to relieve the dryness or will it get more dry? Tweet
