i take about 1300mg of SSKI 2%. that is about the same as one gram of lugols. the 5% in Lugols is the Iodine only. the amount of Iodine in a drop - approx 6.25mg - does not account for the potassium. numbers for SSKI do contain the potassium because that is what it is. i put the Iodine content on the label of SSKI 2% so instead of saying 30mg of Iodide per drop and 600mcg of iodine per drop it gives the total iodine per drop of 23.1mg per drop.

so i am ingesting a gram of iodine total every day.
