Vacuum cleaner / Carpet cleaning

My vacuum just blew up on me and now I need a new one. I had a fantom which I loved but I was in need of a new one anyway. Anyone know of a good brand that's health friendly? What about Dyson? Oreck? I'd like one with a hepa filter for sure.

Also since I'm on the topic of house cleaning. I'd like to get my carpets cleaned but I imagine all the companies that do it use chemicals. Does anyone know of a good way or company to get my carpets cleaned? I did read that it's impossible to get all the water out and then that would create an environment for mold to grow. Any thoughts on this? I have an 8 month old baby who just started crawling so I'd like to get my floors clean but I'm just not sure what is the best way.
