Hair Loss and Hepatitis C

I have a friend (52 yrs old) who was diagnosed 4 years ago with Hep C.
She started to loose her hair recently (within last 6 months) and I am wondering if
the cause could be related to her hepatitis C.

Her hair is very thin to begin with and thus something needs to be done quickly....any suggestions?
