Lectins and glyconutrients
I've read many things lately about lectins and it seems that they might be at the root of many problems.
So my theory about how glyconutrients work is that they detoxify accumulated lectins. Lectins work by binding to glyconutrients. Example, the H. Pylori binds to fucose, and according to Dr. D'Adamo, blood group O, having a fucose containing antigen, is more prone to H. Pylori. Part of the stomach defense is secreting fucose, so that Pylori binds to this and is excreted.
That would also mean a strong prebiotic action for them, since by removing the lectins, intestinal cells are repaired and beneficial bacterias can now attach to them.
And I believe this is how they work against urinary tract infections, since they are excreted in urine. It is to note that lectins can accumulate in kidneys too, being "sticky" large proteins.
