Sorry to hear about your eyelid dermatitis. When I first started with my skin problems 3 1/2 years ago, the rashes began around my eyes as well. I notices my rashes started after I recieved a TB shot at my local health dept. Anyways I went in to see a dermatologist and was prescribed cortisone and oral steriods to clear up the matter. I asked the derm. if it was okay to apply the atopical steriod around my eyes and he told me it would be okay. "Big Mistake" So I applied the stuff around my eyes and it cleared up somewhat but not 100%. To make the long story short "Please do not apply any type of steriod cream or ointment anywhere around your eyes, it will only give you future infections and serious scarring. This is what happened to me, and I wish to GOD I had never done so. I now look in the mirrow everyday and have to look at the dark scars around my eyes as well as around my mouth. I don't want to scare you, only want to offer you cautious advise so you may be spared the misery I've had to endure. I have now learned that the eye area has the thinnest skin on our face and I was given wrong advise by "Supposedly Professionals" I no longer use any steriod ointments of any kind only natural products. Hope this helps.
