Re: One reason abortion is wrong
In the same way, abortion is a moral failure that will inevitably cause one trouble later on. And just like virtually every other moral failure, it causes trouble, not only to the life thats ending, but most certainly to yourself as well.
You don't know that and you can't know that. Does it in some cases? I'm sure it does. But in other cases perhaps this is what wakes someone up to their life. God did not put us here expecting us to be perfect. It is mostly through mistakes that most of us learn. If someone does the "right" thing because they have no choice because they are legislated to do the "right" thing, they are not following God. One is only truly following God if that is what they choose to do. Some people have to hit rock bottom before they look up. Personally, I think we ought to have as much slack as possible to do so.
As Christians, we would like everyone on earth to become saved through the blood of Christ. The problem with abortion is that it has a way (as all sin does) of further removing one from God. This is certainly a problem because the further one is from God, the harder it is to submit, repent and open your heart for Him.
Again, no, same thing . . . maybe this is the way someone finds God.
Everyone's living for themselves,
Many people (too many people) certainly are. But I think abortion is a minor component in this.
I don't think God loves us because we are good, but that God will make us good because He loves us.
I close, here. God loves us no matter what. But I don't think God makes us good. It is our choice.
How can anyone be bright without the sun (Son) shining on them?
Oh, we've got another area of disagreement here. We're a diverse group of people here on earth. You think God, in all his/hers/its wisdon, provided only one path to get to him/her/it? How about if someone lives an exemplary life, following "Christian" principles explicitly, but knows nothing of Jesus Christ? Will God smile on him?
