It is unfortunate that many who worship God, define abortion as Murder.

Murder is usually wrong, unless the victim is your slave (Holy Bible). Slavery is in the Holy Bible. Why don't you own slaves?

Murder is morally regrettable. The Communities of many churches have become intolerant of Abortion. Therefore, those who must decide upon the timing of begining or expanding a family, most often do so without the counsel or support of their church community. Unity and openness with the commnunity are principal foundations of moral ethics. The intolerance of a few, and the silence of many, in Christian church communities render the division, between God and family planning.

You have not defined abortion. Is RU 486 murder? Is the Morning after pill (MAP) murder? Is an IUD Murder(Ejection is after conception)? Is contraception murder?

The Holy Bible says, in one place, that it is better to have copulation out of wedlock, that to spill seed on the ground. Is self-gratification murder? Every woman has 350 opporunties to become pregnant in a monthly cycle, during each woman's life. Are women who reject the advances of a healthy man, actually committing murder in that moment of pushing a man away?

Unfortunately, for many women who are desiring to have healthy children, youthful indiscretion often trumps family planning. Many more preventable Learning disabilities and birth defects are occurring TODAY, than are necessary, in less wealthy sections of the world. It is well documented that prenatal care begins BEFORE conception, with the building up of Folic Acid and other nutrient levels that affect the health, learning and attention skills of the fetus. Planning is needed to change the habits of common youthful indulging in intoxicants, which diminish important nutrients for the development of the mind of the embryo. The joys of parenthood are improved with options for planning.

Reagan started the Gag Rule in 1980. The US Immigration problem is largely a result of the unavailability of family planning services in many parts of the world. Today, the US is leading the drive against Contraception for the poor.

The decision on Abortion should be made on a balance of multiple factors. Selecting one guiding principle to supercede all other relevant considertations, is stupid and immoral. Good ethics requires the consideration of the overall effect of the options available and possible. Good Stewardship would be to provide the full range of family planning services to all women, and all women's male partners.
