This reflects my experience also. I found myself increasingly unable to digest on raw food -- the bulk, the fiber was overwhelming. And like you mention, I ate a lot of nuts to try to get along and get some protein. On the whole, I think eating raw essentially involves eating a diet that's too high in
Sugar and fat. If you try to remedy this by eating huge quantities of greens, your body may have a tough time digesting all that fiber, at least mine did.
I was raw for probably about a year, but toward the end my stomach was distended all the time, it felt like I had a large, hard balloon in there, and I was feeling toxic from what went undigested after I ate. More distressingly, my hair started falling out in clumps which got me off the diet for good.
I will say that other than the big hard stomach thing I felt pretty good on raw, but my body told me it couldn't handle it for the long term.
