The longer I live,
the more I am convinced
that Peace on Earth comes through
the Enchanted Garden.

The Enchanted Garden is a name for our renewed
earth that grows one seed at a time,
one seed dream at a time,
one plant at a time.

Look at the world!
Every child can understand
that a little plant can grow from a Seed.
and So,if one plant brings so much
fun, magic, and usefulness as it grows, what will two
plants give...?

The more healthy, cared for plants,
the more Enchanted Garden,
especially when each plant is cared for
by an Enchanted Gardener who realizes
that Heaven on Earth is connected in a plant.

We live in a fragmented world.
Our Minds, intended to be by-products of
our Soul on the earth plane, are outward directed;
We are entrained on the fragmentation in the world.

In the Kabbalistic model, the Essene Model,
We are living off the Tree of Knowledge.
Knowledge is good, but Knowledge will not get us home.

What gets us home?

Wisdom gets us home.

Wisdom is the application of knowledge to experience.

"Wisdom is the Wise Domain," as Dr. Bernard Jensen said
in his talks.

Wisdom is the result of living on the Tree of Life.
This means living connectedly, or aspire to live
in connection with all LIfe.

The Enchanted Garden exists in our inner core reality.
It comes down to earth through simple earth actions,
such as gardening.

The Enchanted Garden comes down to earth through
each of us realizing, that we our connected--our seeds
under our bellies are connected with all other living seeds.

Seeds are a metaphor for the Soul.
The soil is the fertile womb for new creation.

The Earth and the Soul are soilmates.

So much of our peace work today,
is "piece work." IT is not All of one
Piece," as Martin Buber once said.
Much of our Peace work today,
can be more of One Peace, as we realize
that the Earth and the Soul are Soilmates.

The Pacific Symposium is one place
each year, where with the help of others
We,a team of helpers working together,
in utmost deliberation, set up a
Plant Your Dream Altar.

This year there were more than eight helpers
including a number of spirit send extra hands
that just showed up to make the job flow like
near clockwork.

This year, we had 28 dreams planted,
including the idea of beginning
a new Moxa Growing Coop.
I will propose to pass the torch for this along
to our local Pacific College Student Council,

On November 12, a number of days following
the Pacific Symposium, David Scott, one of the
advanced students at PCOM (Pacific College of Oriental
Medicine) helped plant the symbolic mugwort plant--
moxa--that was the #1 plant I had at the Conference
Altar.

The Seed Dream Restated: Have local students from
the Pacific College grow their own Moxa,
mugwort, one of the most popular herbs
used daily in the United States each day
by acupuncturists.

I have been talking up this idea of
planting TCM (Traditional Chinese Medicine)
in American Soil for more than eight years now
at the Pacific Symposium.

Now a days TCM is called OM or Asian Medicine...
it keeps evolving.

I remember Paul Brenner M.D. first introducing
the acupuncture to my mind at the Mandala Holistic
Health Conference in San Diego. I remember Rick Gold,
a co-student at the University for Humanistic Studies
being there. Rick is now the co-owner of numbers
of Healing Arts Schools in San Diego.

You can see his son's photo here:

http://curezone.com/blogs/m.asp?f=92&i=2020

Rick is one of the world leaders in bringing forth
Thai Massage, and has made many other contributions to
OM.

Rick is a gardener. He has been a gardener as long
as I have known him.

I am convinced that the OM (Oriental Medicine) Practitioners
of this Day--of this second and third generation of American
practitioners--will increasingly recognize that gardening
is a foundation of their medicine.

I cannot see how anyone who aspires to be healthy--
and a care giver--can imagine they can give, give, give,
and direct healing instuments--be they needles or whatever--
and not have their feet in the soil so they can receive
from the Mother Earth.

The idea of of growing our own herbs is exciting
and catching on.

I gsve this year's Closing Ceremony.
Alex Tiberi, one of the most beloved and accessible
of OM teachers speaks on the same CD.

Here are a few of his thoughts:

"People have trouble with the herbs.
but I have to step back and take more time.
I get the herbs out.
I show them.
I tell them what it is about.
Where it comes from.
Look they cut it this way!
They slice the herb that way.
Then thg value in it goes up so much!
Then they go home, and there going to cook that!

Somehow, they develop
a certain appreciation of it...
To me, that's
as much therapy, as important as the chemical constituents
of the herbs. that is what appeals to me.

That is how I am trying to create my conception of what
the world and that conception,
somehow gets tranmitted to the patient.

I hope that we evolve...
The fact that we can use less processed substances.
That was really cool, hearing Leslie, before I came on.

I hope we can evolve to where we are using more local stuff!
There is something really appealing to me!

I like the idea that the Native Americans had...
If you are sick, you should stand on the highest point
of your property, and
you should see every herb you need to treat yourself.
that was a theory in Native American Herbalism...

I don't want to order herbs from China anymore!
Wouldn't that be cool??? We have them all here.
Then that is right for us!

but again, I don't want to impose that on anybody!

I don't want to impose this on anybody.
Because that will make you unhappy."

Alex, underscores, what he says are his
ideas--he is very clear not to want to impose
on anybody his ideas.
At this year's Pacific Symposium Plant Your Dream
Altar, we had a lot going on, beside
planting dreams...

Many conference goers enjoed
resting in our healing area.

This is always a highlight for me.
The conference is no less than 25 minutes
from my home. The last thing I do each morning
is walk around the garden. I fill a basket with
aromatic herbs. I brought some of my strongest
Rosemary, some of our sweet smelling Lemon Verbena,
some of our Rose Scented peppermint Geranium from
South Africa--

Then, during the treatments--
the person lies down on one of Larry Jacob's
old model cushions--that actually can open up
into a slantboard...now called a bodyslant.

http://www.ageeasy.com/

As they rest, with their eyes covered from
the glaring light above, I invite them to go them deep into
their own space--and relax.

At a certain point, if appropriate,
I will ask if they would like to plant a dream.

For some, I will read one of the Seven Love Cures.
I ask if they would like a poem read to them.

Then, they are invited to spend time writing.

Then, then plant the dream in a basket,
Blessign with seeds tossed the dreams that came before them.

The process of writing out Seed Dreams is very intimate.
I tell them, "No one is going to see what you write here
exact my earthworms." I do not look at what they write.
The completed forms go back to the worm compost bin.
Another copy is taken home.

Dream planters are also invited to have a backup dream
planted.

See this blog for more info on this:

One of the most popular highlights of this
year's Altar was the offering up of
locally grown foods grown out by four farmers
that I personally know by first name.
The photos of each farmer
was placed nearby the foods.

See the photos here:
http://curezone.com/blogs/m.asp?f=92=2018

People were amazed!!!

One teacher from Germany had his first persimmon!

Another woman from the orient wrote
to Steve L. White:

"Dear Steve,
I haven't had a real guava for a long time until
I tasted one of yours. Heavenly! Thanks.
P.S. The guavas we had in Taiwan when I was
younger and like the one you grew. Nowadays, it's
all replaced by tai Guavas, big and crispy, but
doesn't have the full flavor like the ones I and
the one you grew. Good Job!"
--April Chang

At the Left End of the Altar--across from the
Registration area--was a display of giveaway items,
and a placard with the names of the Altar Sponsors.
It also had something from the other Sponsors who
played a major role in this year's success.

Below is the flyer, two versions.
I am still finalizing a sponsorship
with the American Acupuncture Council.

At this corner display,
I also had the book
"How Dog Food Saved the Earth"
This was a very successful item
that great much interest.

You can read about the book here:

How Dog Food Saved the Earth:
http://curezone.com/blogs/m.asp?f=92&i=1965
The story of one man who ate an organic strawberry,
switched jobs, and saved the Earth!

I also had brochures and handouts
from Whole Foods Market Hillcrest.
They contributed the flower arrangement
that was on the main podium.

You can see a photo of that here:
