Day Four-Not A Good Day

Yes, all in all not a good day; but now its time to start looking up and forward to better days.

Yesterday I had a pretty good day, I felt stronger and more alive than I had in a long time. About 5:30 in the evening things began to go downhill. I woke up this morning after a night filled with a lot of discomfort and little sleep to a less than ideal day. The first hurdle was oversleeping, I woke up just twenty minutes before it was time to leave for my therapy appointment. I pulled on the nearest clothes I could find, brushed my hair and put on my shoes all without leaving the bed. (I have a very small house). When it did become necessary to get up, I found that I couldn't do it. My legs would not support me and I could not make them move to walk. That is so frightening, but somehow I pulled and drug myself to the car that luckily I had parked right in front of the house. I have no problem driving, so the 27 mile trip was uneventful. My doctor was still busy with his first patient and her dog. Can you tell I live way out in the country? After the dog got her adjustment and greeted me I went in for diathermy, then ultrasound on my neck. I tried to get up and could not. Doc. wanted to do some electro-acupuncture,and since I wasn't going anywhere I was game. He stuck needles in my neck and left knee. The needle insertion on the knee hurt worse than any acupuncture I've ever had. After the electrodes were hooked up I turned up the frequency. Normally I adjust the frequency until I can feel "bugs" crawling on my body, then back down to a comfortable level. This time I could get sensations in my neck, but not the knee. On the left side of the neck I started getting the strange pulsing like a heartbeat gone wild. I quickly backed down the frequency and could feel a pulse like a normal heartbeat, but nothing in my knee. The right side of the neck had the usual tingle, but, not the knee. Both the lady who did the energy healing and my doctor say I have a blockage on the left side. What is it. I fear it might be severe nerve damage, but my instinct still says its something that can be fixed, although I got very discouraged this morning. Doc. had to wheel me out and more or less stuff me into the car. I was hurting so bad I took a couple of Ultram, then remembered I was twenty seven miles from home and my empty stomache usually has very strong and drastic reactions to Ultram.

Confession Time: Knowing I would probably not make it home with stomach contents intact, I asked Doc. if a small bag of onion rings would be detrimental. He looked at me strangely and I explained about taking the medicine on an empty stomach. He agreed that onion rings were a better choice than a burger since I am so sensitive to wheat. So I drove the eighteen miles to the next town, stopped at the only Drive-in restaurant in the county and had my onion rings-so much for being raw today. But, they did taste delicious. Stomach happy I drove the remaining nine and a half miles home and pretty much been lazy today. The weather man is predicting rain, even dangerous storms tomorrow. I wonder if all this is the result of lower barometric pressure or another roadblock.

I am walking a little better now and will attempt to do a liver flush tonight. I just hope this won't be a total disaster. In fact I need to swallow the first dose of Epsom salts NOW! OK-done, how I hate that stuff. I mix the Epsom salt with apple juice and that help the taste a little. This may get interesting if my legs give out again, but I have been doing a lot of memory work recalling things that have created anger, hurt and confusion in the past and feel like I need to flush to get rid of toxic emotions as well as toxins from the pain meds.
