I was diagnosed with Vit D deficiency end of sept - it was at 18. Endo wanted me to take 50K 3 times per week - I actually felt worse when I took the 50K so I only took on weekends and took 5 k per day additionally. It has now been 5 months - I need to get my levels checked - in some ways I feel better but still cannot workout (used to workout a lot) my muscles are super tight if I do and I get weak - also have this numbness/tingling in my legs a lot still.
I have heard it takes a long time to get better but am getting frustrated - any suggestions? I am making appt with Dr to check my levels - maybe I am not absorbing the Vitamin.
I started taking liquid Vit D/K2 this month - about 5 drops - am also taking cal/mag.

This is a reply to # 2,307,525Vitamin D levels are hard to diagnose. I also took the 50k Vit D but I read up that it was the crappy of the two kinds of D offered, so no surprise there that it didn't help much. I think the best way for you to actually get healthy and proper vitamin D levels is from the sun. It seems like manufacturing process gets shittier and shittier day by day, so who knows what you really get anymore, if it doesn't help at this point?
Try getting a tan more often or buying one of those special lights. After all, the skin will do its job but what money gets, well, we know what.

This is a reply to # 2,307,536Thanks - maybe thats it - I live in Arizona, so getting sun is not the problem, just have been avoiding it due to skin cancer fear and aging my skin - but I think I will try to do 10 - 15 min a day - heard that is not bad for you!- Re: Vitamin D Deficiency - not feeli... neonknight77

This is a reply to # 2,307,562I think I got it because I used to do a lot of hot yoga - vitamin D is in the skin - I started having symptoms right after doing a 30 day challenge - I tend to sweat a lot so I think I may have sweated out the Vitamin D - not sure if that is possible - around the same time I also started wearing sunscreen and cut out dairy. I dont spend a lot of time in the sun though - I used to do a lot of hiking but dont so much anymore

Just wanted to update that I got my levels done and I am now at 58 - was at 18 in September. I am finally starting to feel better - have been exercising this month - not 100% yet - but I have heard it can still take 6 months after your levels are better to feel completely better.
I have noticed more of an improvement since I started taking the D3/K liquid under my tongue - I think the liquid is more effective.
Still have numbness in my feet - the doctor thinks it may be because I have gained quite a bit of weight since I have been inactive for the last 6 - 9 months because of the deficiency.
