Re: Stomach swells after bowel movement
I haven't personally experienced ileocecal reflux, so I don't have first hand knowledge of what this person is experiencing.
However, I do know that it's the same toxins that occur with fermentation in the small bowel, with the difference being that they are introduced in potentially large amounts, and very quickly. I can see how gases might also come through causing the lumen to expand. In reality, I think it could be either or both.
I've experienced rapid intestinal inflammation from allergy to medicine which I initially confused with bloating. It wasn't until the allergy worsened, causing vomiting and hives, that I was able to discern the difference.
Another difference was that the inflammatory response lasted longer than bloating, and also moved through my system as the offending medication passed through me. But it definitely had an element of bloating.
So, I guess I'm saying yes, they are similar.
Although, with ileocecal trouble, you're always going to feel something in the right pelvic area, pain, or discomfort etc.
