I find that when I reach a point (as we did recently when my 2-y.o.’s refused to use the potty, which I really wanted them to begin using...) where I have a goal and they are not compliant, it means they are not ready to be who I want them to be. I am out of ideas to potty train my 3 year old daughter. I have tried a sticker chart, M&Ms and just putting her in undies. She currently refuses to sit on the toliet. If I put her in undies, she will take them off and find a pull-up to put on. There were days she would go at least 6 times on the potty, now I can’t even get her to go once. Well, it has been interesting. With the next 2, it seems that not much progress was made, but looks can be deceiving (that’s for sure!) About a week ago I was not able to sleep. Question: Is you son getting any healthy fats in his diet? From what you described it sounds as though he may need to take some olive oil, perhaps in salad dressing, or with some soup - maybe one or 2 teaspoons at least per day. From what I experienced, the liver cannot work properly to eliminate whithout some good fats. As soon as I added a tablespoon per day (adult) my liver kicked in again to proper elimination. A glass of beet juice can make a good movement in 30 min. I do hope you don’t yell at your son for wetting the bed. That stress alone could make him constipated. I wet the bed at four. Your son’s condition does sound serious. 4 thoughts: 1) The recommendation for colonic therapy seems to be of utmost importance. It sounds like he should be having these regularly for a while. I am not sure how often that would be, but it would start out very frequently (every day, perhaps) and then be gradually reduced. This is a common syndrome with people who become so impacted. I cannot find the file at the moment but there are cases where people have a BM once a year or so.
