encouraging each of us to grow a bit of our own food
and honoring our remaining micro farmers.
We declare that we can all work together that not one more innocent person
is harmed by eating contaminated food that comes from
a contaminated industrial food system

Congresswoman Susan Davis was at the Hillcrest Farmers' Market
on 10-10-10. I missed seeing her.
I was putting together a flyer
to Educate Washington ABout Real Food Safety
and launching a petition for 10 million.
The Petition would
alert Washinton that we need a National Conversation
before we vote for more regulations
that could suppress enthusiasm for the youth
to enter Micro Farming.
The sends a letter to Washington that says
Standing with Us for Real Food Safety and Saying
No To GMO
ABOUT THE PROPOSED FOOD SAFETY BILLS
S. 510 and S.3767.
Farmers I know already feel burdened beyond
belief by regs now in place. These bills as
they are written now would increase the regulations
and increase FDA authority. I do not feel
it is wise to increase FDA authority.
The FDA not not appear to be guided by
information that is grounded in health principles.
Health Principles need to be looked at
to determine Food Safety regulations.
Congresswoman Davis is an outstanding friend
of our San Diego community. I vote for her
and will continue to do so. As many in Washington,
she does not fully recognize the potential harm from
Biotech when applied to Agriculture.
Jeffrey Smith and I both are open to some applications
of Biotech to medicine. My friend, Dr. Judith Larkin Reno,
has been on zero life expectancy for more than ten years.
She has benefited greatly from Stem Cell and advanced
biotech applications applied to medicine.
I AM NOT ANTI MONSANTO.
I AM ANTI GMO TECHNOLOGY APPLIED TO AGRICULTURE
There is an important point I need to clarify.
I am not anti-Monsanto Corporation.
I am anti GMO Technology applied to agriculture.
There is a difference here. It needs to be addressed.
Monsanto Corporation has had an profound impact
on food as we know it today, and the breakdown of culture.
Anyone who believes in the future of life on the planet
wants to see them shift the nature of how they are doing
business and what they are selling.
My research shows that there has been great harm
through the application of Biotechology to agriculture.
This needs to be fully disclosed in our
Dialogue on Science, Ethics and Food Facebook group.
MONSANTO GOES ORGANIC?
I want to tell an interesting story.
I was part of the press corps for BIO in 2008.
I was hired to do some photography for the government
of Argentina, one of the few nations still using Biotech
for Agriculture. At first, thought I had been taken up
in some kind of James Bond 007 movie, but then,
after making friends with the ambassador from
Argentina and giving him one of my Love Cures,
my confidence was up. I went looking for Monsanto.
Monsanto is so big at BIO that they did not even have a booth.
I went to the spot. I made friends with a sweet man
from Saint Louis from a farming school.
I found the Monsanto cards there. I also found
some organic seeds. I felt the future was talking to me.
In my latest video that introduces the idea of
Keep The Beet, there is a few shots of a Seed Dream
I have planted called, Monsanto Goes Organic!
I am willing to talk about this at future AAAS Conferences
as well as BIO, the Biotechnology Industry Organization
annual meeting.
I made numbers of friends at BIO, including one
scientist from Murdock University in Australia where
they teach both permaculture and Biotech at the same school.
I am merely asking for an open dialogue.
I made a connection with Dr.Robert Fraley, the father of
Round Up Ready. I am friends on Facebook with a person
who works for Monsanto. Keep The Beet is here to close the gap
between GMO and Organic Lovers.
Curiously as well, when I went to the California Small Farm
Conference, a few days after the AAAS last February.
The Triple A S as it is called is the most presdigious Science
organization in America. Triple A-S stands for:
"The American Association for the Advancement of Science,
"Triple A-S" (AAAS), is an international non-profit organization
dedicated to advancing science around the world
by serving as an educator, leader, spokesperson and professional association."
The organization is loaded with Nobel Prize winners.
I learned so much for being part of the Press Corps.
The idea of the Dialogue on Science, Ethics and Food
came from attending one of the AAAS meetings on
a Dialogue on Science, Ethics and Religion. There
were government leaders here, including Frances Collins,
head of the NIH. We interacted a bit. I was inspired by
the meeting. I would have to say that attending BIO,
The Biotechnology Industry Organization annual meeting
in 2008, and then the AAAS in February 2010 where two
of highly transforming experiences.
I met another man who worked for Monsanto for many years.
He was now growing organic food. We were drawn to each other.
It is this kind of listening that can shift the nature of our world.
We are not going to get where we need to go
through more conflict and a lack of open conversation.
The White House and much of Washington is clearly
in the Biotech camp. BIO is extensively in the classroom
and funding the development of many Genius projects
for kids. We, as well, in the organic camp, need to make our
inroads within BIO, not outside Bio. We need to be inside
AAAS, not outside it.
MY MESSAGE TO THE ORGANIC CENTER
AND NATURAL PRODUCT LEADERSHIP
I have spoken to Walt Robb, Co-Ceo of Whole Foods Market,
and to Gary Hirshberg, who is in Food Inc about this. It is always
a thrill to have moments with this influencial men who are pioneers
in the Natural Products Industry. For years, one of my photos
would be used as a gift item for the Organic Trade Assocation (OTA)
as well.
All these leaders need to be in conversation for the sake
of our future. They need to be in Dialogue.

Cpmgressman Susan David of the House of Representatives
was at our Hillcrest Farmers' Market. This was an oppurtunity
to spend some precious time with her during the recesss.
I was tending to this petition and getting together
a flyer this morning. I did not get to the Farmers'' Market
until 1 pm. I did not meet with her.
It s very important the I establish a relationship with
our congresswoman. We all need to do that with our
congress people.
My timing has been really good these days.
I am off to an event at Bill Talls City Farmers' Nursery.
I brought home some other basil plants that relate
to the food safety of greens. I need sponsors now
to pull off some of the work that is being asked.

I got to the Hillcrest Farmers' Market late.
I was addressing Senators and House Members.
Little did I know that Congress woman Susan Davis
as at our Farmers' Market. I believe she
was right there even after I arrived, but
I did not connect with her.
Phil Noble told me she was there
around 2 pm.
I did accomplish some other things,
but this would have been life shifting
to spend time with her.
