Requiem to the Angel of Death
Angel of Death,
I have power over you.
I am placing lamb's blood over
the doorway of the houses of my beloved friends
as the prophet.
Your death is the death of experience,
experience that petrifies and stagnates,
experience that imagines new thought is dead,
that prevents deep movement,
experience that believes anything really dies!
New Life awaken!
Reaffirm the very essence of Spirit
that cannot be controlled
but is the force that inspires roses
and demands exodus
to new and ever greater freedom.
Angel of Death, you are an illusion.
There is no end, no more than thee is
a beginning.
There are only seasons all to be lived in
each and every new moment. The spiral circles.
You cannot discourage my family who gallantly
plunge in innocence to test their dreams
in the waters of life at higher and higher plateaus.
I'm tickling you in the ribs until you put on clown face.
In the truth of my acceptance of you,
may all fear be forever banished from my world.
With a child's wand
I transform you into the patron of wild flowers
that reseed themselves each Spring
in an endless symphony of multi-colored beauty
expressing the new untried creation.
Untried creation knows nothing of failure
as it knows nothing of success. IT merely is,
despite appearances. Rejoice in the Newness!
We all continue as always, into the land of peace.
Credo of a Cosmic Cheerleader
I have determined to live
as a current in the stream of life,
as a grounding point of planting peace
in the body of one human.
I have resolved to include my messes
and heartbreaks as a record in the history
of peace on earth.
All the disorder around me,
no longer hidden, shows where
the dark corners of my being
are unshaped into my wholeness.
May the dead plants around me
be signs of the battles
I have waged within myself,
some won, some lost.
May my growing plants show arenas
where my green thumb has found
unbroken meaning.
Lo, be this earth the final day
there are no more messes around me,
where my last stitch
of paper finds its place.
It will not be a day of joy for everyone.
Comets will cross the sky.
Worlds will fall apart.
Planets will be born.
