NOW IS THE TIME REGAIN
OUR BEAT WITH NATURE
We are truly regaining our beat with nature.
We have no other choice.
Bill Tall is a major contributor in San Diego
to the work at hand. Many of his customers
grow some of their own food.
Last year at the Pacific Symposium,
we planted Seed Dreams that the students would
begin to grow some of their own food and medicines.
This year, we will further fertilize the connection
between City Farmers Nursery and the
Pacific College of Oriental Medicine students,
staff, and patients. The school
trains some of the nation's best integrative medicine
students.
Now is the time for planting Traditional Chinese Medicine
on American Soil. The work continues, inspiring the students
to plant their medicine in in American soil.
Growing our own food and medicines
reminds us to improve are own diets.
Bill Tall is a Beet Keeper in an age when most
of us have been uprooted from the American Dream.
He holds a very special place in my life.
His Nursery, City Farmers, in an area of
San Diego that is no La Jolla.
His Seed Dream that began in 1972
on this location where his dad had a deli,
has now come to pass.
City Farmers Nursery is truly a jewel
of a place. Make sure you visit often!
Stop by on a
Saturday afternoon to say hello
to the chicken that runs free
or to see wild and loved beet leaves
growing in fertile soil. Bill will likely be there
on a Saturday. Sunday, the nursery is also open
from 10 am to 3 pm, and every other day from
9 am to 5 pm.

MY HISTORY
AND WHY I LOVE CITY FARMERS NURSERY SO MUCH
As I kid, I would escape from the confines
of the Orthodox Judaism of my youth
to go down to a nearby pet shop. I would
spend time with the fish that swam in tanks
and a monkey that I loved dearly.
The monkey lived in a cage and so did I.
Today, many of us in America are being caged by the foods
we are being served, and the fish and animal life in are oceans
are tanking from a lack of air to breathe or clean water.
The Soul of America and our future leaders--our children--
are calling out to us. From the vantage point
of 1000 years from now looking back,
this is one of the most significant moments
in the evolutionary history of humanity.
The future lies in our hands.
